After shopping around at multiple fitness studios I now call this place home, which is a big deal for me. I'm semi-new to the area & feel very comfortable here. They offer a variety of both group & private classes. You can do equipment, mat, etc. I personally only do the group fitness & I'm obsessed. Pilates Total Fitness & Vbarre are fantastic. The staff are all very warm & welcoming and the atmosphere is very relaxed & comfortable. I can't say enough good things about this place. Free parking under the studio in a garage is super convenient...close to NIH, which is a plus to workout before work! The online sign up is easy & convenient...I wish their cancellation policy was less than 12 hours but I just use the $10 penalty for late cancel as motivation to go on a day I'm feeling lazy!

Love this place. The yoga classes are excellent and the teachers and front desk staff, especially the manager and the owner, are inviting to newcomers. They are friendly and helpful. If you are tired of all the hype in other places, this is the place to join! Staff is very grounded and down to earth, as well as knowledgeable.

While my daughter enjoyed the classes.we had pre-paid for numerous classes, almost $1, 000. She was hospitalized and unable to attend class. Balance studios refused to refund the money or extend the expiration date of the classes. It saddens me every time I drive by to think that they would take advantage of a client in need.

I think studios can be somewhat like hair salons in that we all have our idiosyncratic tastes for how we like things done. A studio that works for me may not work for you, vice versa. I regularly came to this studio, then stopped. While away, I tried to do pilates mat workouts on my own and at a studio closer to my home. I'm back at this studio for that one thing that I haven't found at any other studio or health club and can't do on my own: Pilates Total Fitness with Jane. It is truly the most intense workout for core strengthening that you can do. There are a lot of other reasons why people are satisfied with this studio and you may be happy with it. The one major reason for my return is PTF.

I moved away and haven't found a studio that I'm as happy with as this place. All of the instructors know what they are doing and are committed to providing safe instruction that is tailored to each student's needs. Small class sizes mean lots of individual attention and hands-on adjustments (in all classes - not just yoga but also pilates and barre). People are friendly and there's a sense of community. I miss this studio a lot and heartily recommend it to anyone who wants to improve their practice and learn a lot in a safe, healthy context.

I came here with ClassPass for a Friday AM yoga flow class before work. It was a lovely way to start to start the weekend! There were only four people in class, and the instructor was great at giving us individual adjustments while still instructing the entire group. I am already obsessed with the class playlist, and signed up to go back next Friday morning. The only negative thing that I have to say about the studio is that there was no one at the front desk to greet me when I arrived before class-maybe because the studio opens at 7am and I was there around 6:50 am since it was my first class. I had to find the correct paperwork to fill out and turn in myself, and was not given a tour of the facilities. Luckily, it is a small space so I was able to find the locker, showers, etc. without any trouble and was offered a tour by my yoga instructor after class.

Balance is a great studio! I took an excellent yoga class here. All of the instructors are top notch and seem to really know their stuff. The pilates and gyro tonic equipment that they have in the studio is the largest collection I've seen and perfect for classes. The studio is large but has a homey feel, and you get plenty of personal attention. Highly recommend!

Looooove doing yoga nidra here. Although the studio is located on Wisconsin Avenue, the room in which yoga nidra is held is in the back of the studio and incredibly quiet. The class is typically held once every month or two on Sunday afternoon, and costs $25. The studio also gets bonus points for having FREE INDOOR parking - fantastic when it's freezing outside (although you do need to walk outdoors from one door to another - but that is all of about 25 steps).
