INTENTION AS A LYONS DEN POWER YOGA TEACHER:
My intention is to light up NYC through the creation of a true Baptiste Yoga community and to empower leaders to be in their fullest expression.

FAVORITE NYC HAUNT:
It’s a toss up between Lincoln Center, right before the curtain goes up at New York City Ballet, and Morrell Wine Bar, during the holidays, sitting at the corner of the bar near the window, vino in hand, with a clear shot of that beautiful Rockefeller tree in the company of people I love.

HOME:
I have three distinct hometowns: Chicago, Illinois; Bainbridge, Ohio; and lastly, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. I was slowly moving my way toward NYC!

SONG THAT MAKES YOU DANCE:
“Freedom”by George Michael – always and forever.

WHAT SURPRISES/INSPIRES ME ABOUT THIS PRACTICE:
It always works. I learn and grow every time I step onto the mat.

INTENTION AS A LYONS DEN POWER YOGA TEACHER:
My intention is to build a creative and playful space that facilitates the union of breath and movement unleashing the true power of yoga.

FAVORITE NYC HAUNT:
Turks & Frogs in the West Village for a nightcap.

HOME:
Kansas. I clicked my heels 3 times and wound up in NYC!

SONG THAT MAKES YOU DANCE:
“Get Lucky” by Daft Punk

WHAT SURPRISES/INSPIRES ME ABOUT THIS PRACTICE:
I find that whenever I have reached the edge of a pose, I realize it’s just the beginning!

ANDREW BASS
Andrew was a competitive gymnast and wrestler from the age of 3. After discovering running in his 20s, he ultimately began to experience many of the injuries associated with that form of exercise. Looking for a way to cross train, he took his first yoga class at a Baptiste studio in Jacksonville, Florida in 2011. Given his background in gymnastics and wrestling, he immediately felt right at home on his yoga mat.

By April 2013, Andrew completed his 200 Hour Yoga training at his local Baptiste studio in Florida and in June 2013 attended Baron’s Level 1 Training in Sedona, AZ. He also attended a Baptiste Art of Assisting workshop in 2013 and plans on attending Level 2Training early next year.

Andrew recently moved in with Michelle Swiatkowski and they’re getting married in October, 2015.

INTENTION AS A LYONS DEN POWER YOGA TEACHER:
As a teacher I want to inspire my students to practice intention both inside the studio and outside in the real world, in addition to finding ease, joy, and laughter on their mat (while still getting a great workout!).

FAVORITE NYC HAUNT:
My favorite place in NYC is any diner that serves good Matzo Ball soup.

HOME:
My hometown is Marlboro, NJ.

SONG THAT MAKES YOU DANCE:
Guilty pleasure, but I love the entire soundtrack to “Footloose”. Because I grew up doing gymnastics, as a kid I used to dream I was Ren MacCormack.

WHAT SURPRISES/INSPIRES ME ABOUT THIS PRACTICE:
Without hesitation it’s the people! Being surrounded by such a strong community of likeminded people who are committed to leading fuller, healthier lives inspires me to stay focused on my individual growth as a student and a teacher.

VERONICA NAUGHTER
Veronica‘s been practicing yoga for over 10 years and is a 200 HR Yoga Alliance certified teacher. She completed her Level 1 Training with Baron Baptiste in August 2013, Art of Assisting in March 2014, Level 2 Training in October 2014 with Paige Elenson and Level 3 Training with Baron Baptiste in November 2015. In Janaury 2016, Veronica became a Certified Baptiste Teacher.
Veronica holds a Masters in Teaching and taught Spanish at the middle school level for over eight years. She enjoyed guiding students in their path of learning and providing them with the necessary tools to take ownership of their knowledge. Veronica feels lucky to have been able to merge her love of teaching with her passion for yoga.
Veronica lives in New Providence, New Jersey with her husband, Denis, and their two children, Sean and Anna.

INTENTION AS A LYONS DEN POWER YOGA TEACHER:
My intention is to offer students the opportunity to shed what is necessary to find their best selves and become empowered through their practice.

FAVORITE NYC HAUNT:
I love Central Park every season of the year.

HOME:
Born in Argentina. Raised in Bloomfield, New Jersey.

SONG THAT MAKES YOU DANCE:
Crazy in Love – Beyoncé

WHAT SURPRISES/INSPIRES ME ABOUT THIS PRACTICE:
This practice allows me to let go of what’s needed to grow or shift my perspective. Getting on my mat gives me a reality check of who I truly am and how I want to stand for others in my life. It gives me access to my power and reminds me that I am capable of achieving my goals.

MICHELLE BASS
Michelle’s journey into Baptiste yoga began in 2008 while living abroad in Sydney, Australia. Upon her return home to Ohio in 2009, she began to attend trainings with Baron Baptiste and Senior Faculty, completing Teacher Training Levels One, Two, and Three, as well as Art of Assisting. She is a 200-hr Registered Yoga Teacher through Yoga Alliance. She continues to study the Baptiste methodology and is in the process of Baptiste Certification.

Currently, Michelle is taking courses to become a holistic health coach. When not at Lyons Den, she teaches yoga to elementary school students in Brooklyn. She loves to cook, eat, sleep, and snuggle.

Michelle recently moved in with Andrew Bass and they’re getting married in October, 2015.

INTENTION AS A LYONS DEN POWER YOGA TEACHER:
I believe that growth and transformation happen when students leave their comfort zone and push through their boundaries.

FAVORITE NYC HAUNT:
