Yoga is not something outside of ourselves. It is not something we do. It is not a way to dress. It is not a manner of speaking. It is not dead pictures in a book. It is not an answer...
It is an invitation … A beckoning to remember the song that we are ... A call to our essential nature, as an integral part of the great tapestry of life. Hafiz playfully nudges us to remember this same nature, saying - “Sweetheart! Oh, Sweetheart! You are God in drag. You are a divine elephant with amnesia trying to live in an ant hole.” Through yoga asana and transformative breath practices, we are invited to shed the ignorance {avidya} of our true nature. We are invited to glimpse into more of our full radiance, again and again. Katherine first discovered the healing prowess of connecting the breath with conscious movement upon moving to California in 2008 for studies in consciousness & transformation. Initially inspired by the practices of qi gong and conscious free-form dancing {via barefoot boogies & ecstatic dances}, it wasn't long before the practices of yoga - in the form of Jivamukti, Bhakti, and Kundalini - weaved themselves into her life, providing rich sources of inner transformation. In 2013, she received her 230-hour yoga teacher certification through the Asheville Yoga Center. She is grateful to the wisdom & inspiration of many teachers, and while it would be impossible to name them all, some especially impactful ones include Michael Johnson, Meghan Currie, Sierra Hollister, Sevan Bomar, Terrence McKenna, Bentinho Massaro, and Alan Watts. In her classes, Katherine wishes to invite others to join her on a journey of self-discovery unfolding with each conscious breath, accompanied by fluid movements amidst a lush soundscape. Her classes offer a nurturing space for healing and transformation. She is blessed to be able to share yoga as a portal to more radiant off-the-mat living."What we Speak becomes the House in which we Live."
