This is, by far, the best yoga studio in State College. The instructors and fellow students are very friendly, and do a wonderful job at making you feel welcome. Classes are offered seven days a week, often with two classes per day. Every instructor is proficient, but Kristen is my personal favorite. Her classes are vigorous, but accessible to all, regardless of your expertise or inexperience with yoga. I always leave feeling in a state of total bliss. Highly highly recommended. Doug's class is also pretty amazing, though quite different than many other classes I have taken elsewhere. His style uses the activation of muscles as a means to release stress. The real joy in his class is in the relaxation period between poses. Regardless of which class you take, I would suggest bringing a bottle of water and a towel. Most classes are heated, and you sweat like crazy. Additionally, I will point out that classes are now $7, though it is cheaper if you buy a package. This is still a VERY GOOD DEAL. Check the website for prices, schedules, and promotions. When I went for the first time, I got a coupon that made my second class free. In summary, this place is great. Get there early, as classes tend to fill up and space is limited.
This is my favorite place to be in State College, hands down. The studio is low-maintenance, no frills and offers a really great variety of yoga classes, most heated. The instructors are all really nice and really good, no one is pretentious and the owner, Doug Hayward, supports a community dynamic that I haven't really ever experienced in other environments. He also teaches the "Yoga with Doug" yoga classes at PSU so you might be familiar with him there. Recently he lowered the price to $5 a class - FIVE BUCKS A CLASS - and has not compromised the integrity of the practice in exchange. This will be the one thing I miss when I leave because I can't imagine ever finding another yoga studio this welcoming.
