Yoga includes a series of gentle stretches, breathing practices and progressive deep relaxation. It teaches that a healthy person is a harmoniously integrated unit of body, mind and spirit, enabling her to be at peace in any moment, every moment. In India, the world ‘’Yoga’’ itself means ‘‘union.” Our resort and yoga spa in Virginia also offers classes for children. Rates available upon request.
Through an integration of Eastern, Western and American Indian traditions, Mindfulness Meditation for Self-Care and Inner Resiliency will help you to experience inner peace, restore your sense of self, maintain your balance and to deepen your connection with the natural world. Participants will be led through simple practices for relaxing the body and calming the mind using breath, body sensations and sounds from nature to concentrate and anchor attention in the present. Learning to focus awareness in the present moment, on purpose, in a non-judgmental way, develops one’s equanimity — the capacity for being with all things just as they are. In each class you will be given tools to build your skills of concentration and emotional self regulation, which are beneficial to many pursuits in life, especially the game of golf.
