IRest Level 1 Teacher Training

I began practicing Yoga in 2002 and was immediately captivated. I’ve been teaching since 2005. Over the years my yoga practice has afforded me comfort and stability in my body and calmed my emotions. I believe everyone can do yoga, no matter their condition, it just may not look the same! My desire is to pass on these practices so others can find the same contentment as I have in the middle of their busy lives.

Memberships

International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT)
Perhaps their statement says it best: “IAYT supports research and education in Yoga and serves as a professional organization for Yoga teachers and Yoga therapists worldwide. Our mission is to establish Yoga as a recognized and respected therapy.”

Yoga Alliance
The agency that sets minimum standards for training requirements and maintains a registry. A graduate from a recognized school gets the title RYT if they are a member of Yoga Alliance. I am eligible for the RYT500 designation for my Viniyoga training. I was a member for many years but, for various reasons, am not currently one. (Feel free to ask if you’re curious!)

Integral Yoga Teachers Association
I have done many trainings at the Satchidinanda Yogaville ashram and lived there 5 weeks as a Living Yoga Trainee (LYT) in October 2010. The Integral Ashram has an active peer mentoring program, and offers yoga teacher insurance through their association.
