EXPERIENCE yoga...from Debbie Stevens' perspective
The Yoga Center began as a dream I had. I was teaching yoga and wanted to find one central place for yogis to meet and practice yoga. So, in 1998 I opened in a space at Piccadilly Square in South Roanoke. I found that we needed more teachers than just myself so I began training teachers. Originally teachers volunteered their time and energy. We grew to have many volunteers, an Office Manager, Advisory Board and 9 paid teachers. We left that space in January 2010 and are now located in Grandin Village. Our address is 1316B Grandin Road SW, above Grace's Place Pizzeria.
We offer drop-in classes and 8 week series of basic yoga classes such as Intro to Yoga for Beginners, Yoga 1 and Yin Yoga, as well as classes in special interest areas, such as Restorative Yoga and Yoga for the Back.
We offer classes for all levels of
students.
The usual styles of yoga offered are Kripalu, alignment - based Yoga and Yin. We host special events with visiting
teachers in different styles of yoga, such as Anusara and
Jivamukti Yoga.
